During my walk yesterday, I took a different route, and I came across this little surprise:
It’s a free lending library someone has set up in their front yard.
According to littlefreelibrary.org , Little Free Libraries are “a ’take a book, return a book’ gathering place where neighbors share their favorite literature and stories. In its most basic form, a Little Free Library is a box full of books where anyone may stop by and pick up a book (or two) and bring back another book to share.”
I’m not sure what the future holds for these random acts of library kindness in an e-reader world, but somehow I feel better about all of humanity just knowing that something like this exists.
